Buffalo City Football Club Statement For 2010 Season & Future

(Buffalo, NY) - Buffalo City Football Club would like to stress that the club is still committed to the City of Buffalo and will hopefully be able to share some exciting news regarding the 2010 season.

Andrew Moore's appointment as head of operations has been vital as the club looks to restructure and move forward since deciding to leave the National Premier Soccer League and selling their franchise rights to another group.

Andrew Moore Buffalo City FC's Head of Operations Director commented on the upcoming season "I think there is a misunderstanding with our club not being part of the NPSL anymore, the club made this decision not lightly as we did not see any way forward being part of the league. The important thing is that the club keeps progressing. I am pleased with how things are going and although it takes time to achieve what we are looking to do, I am 100% certain we can still achieve all of our goals for the 2010 season. At this present time it seems there is a lot of uncertainty in American Soccer as the alleged MLS lockout looms and several teams are breaking away from the USL and starting the NASL, so hopefully we can announce our big plans soon to give our fans some stability as I really think the American soccer has made great strides in developing the game and we as a club look to continue to build soccer in the City of Buffalo".

Moore went on to stay that the club is still looking for the correct replacement for former Head Coach Mike Share and have since interviewed 30+ candidates for the job "In other news we are still looking for a new coach and it is never easy to replace a coach like Mike Share. I have had the pleasure to witness Mike's ability as a player coach and I think he has everything it takes to become a great coach in the future at the highest level. I am sure he will bring much success to his Spanish team. Who knows maybe in the future Mike will want to come back but in till then we have to make sure we get the correct person in to take us forward and to continue to great job Mike has done for us, I know that's wishful thinking but who know?".

Buffalo City Football Club is Buffalo's premier soccer organization since 2008. Combining a winning tradition on the pitch with a standard of excellence within the community, BCFC remains the height of achievement in professionally run sport.
