(Buffalo NY) - Buffalo City FC was pleased to team up with Delaware Soccer Club. When the club recently ran a professional training session for Delaware SC. The soccer club chartered in 1978 is one of the oldest soccer clubs in Buffalo.
Buffalo's Head Coach Mike Share and Buffalo's forward Daniel Waymont ran the session for the talented Delaware youth team.
The players were pushed throughout the session specifically designed by Head Coach Mike Share to see players skills and fitness, as well as to see what each players capabilities were.
"It was very refreshing to see so many young talented players. What makes this team so special is that most of the players are from Africa. It is a real mixed team and it shows that the sport can bring people from different cultures together. I really have to take my hat off to Delaware Soccer Club. They are making a difference in Buffalo's community and we can all learn from this example. At the end of the day everything we and other clubs are doing is all for the kids".
The session consisted of movement on and off the ball, working on shooting, placement of the ball and moving the ball under pressure.
Share went on to say "I was very happy with the effort the players put in the session. They are all eager to learn and there are several players with the correct coaching that can progress to the professional game. I look forward to the players continuing pushing themselves to become better players. You have to remember that it is difficult for the players to come across the training we do as they are not used to this intensity of training, but i felt all the players adapted very well. This is very pleasing for our club and I am sure we will have a few if not many Delaware soccer players in our professional team in the near future".
