Roshard Gilbert as a freshman in 2004 played for York University in Canada before transferring to
Cleveland State in 2005.
2005 - Sophomore Season. Gilbert fashioned together a stellar campaign for the Vikings as he started all 17 matches he appeared in. Gilbert recorded a pair of goals while adding two assists and finished second on the team in goals (2), assists (2), shots (24) and shots on goal (11). He netted his first CSU goal against Akron (9/9) and later added another tally versus Detroit (10/16). Gilbert also recorded a career-high four shots, including a Viking single-match high three shots on goal in a 3-1 setback at Bowling Green (10/26). Gilbert was credited with assists against Niagara (10/4) and Valparaiso (10/23). He attended York University as a freshman.
High School: Four-year most valuable player at Senator O'Connor High School and named Christain Athlete of the Year. also a two-year MVP of his indoor soccer team.
