Stephen Brandt's Mangers Chat With Buffalo City FC's Mike Share Interview FC Revolution Edition (05/13/09)

In preparation for the kick off to Buffalo City FC's regular season, Mike Share and Stephen Brandt sat down for their weekly Manager's chat. This week the club is on the road against FC Revolution of Reading PA. Mike discusses his view on the "Friendly" last weekend, the upcoming match, and the MLS. As always Buffalo City FC wants to hear from our supporters, so any questions for Mike for next week's chat email Stephen at sbrandt@buffalocityfc.com and GO BCFC!

What did you take out of the club's first friendly?

I was very happy with the effort and the win. It will only give our players the confidence that they are doing everything correct and that all the hard work is paying off.

Anything new happening at the club this week?

This week everything is geared up towards our first away game on Saturday 16th against FC Revolution.

I know this is a league where there's a lot of turnover every year, so you can not really know much about FC Revolution, but is there really anything you can tell the supporters about the team?

It looks like they are a very strong team who like ourselves like to play an attacking system, I expect them to use the flanks a lot and play a strong passing game. No game is a easy game especially on the road but I am sure it will be a very interesting game and hopefully we can come back home with 3 points in the bag.

With the clubs we work with, how were they picked?

We have a wide variety of different clubs that we have access to. They are not picked, some were my own ex clubs that I played for, others were interested to be part of what we are doing. It is great to have so many clubs that we have access to as this give us the best option to place a player in the correct club that suits the player best.

Who do you think will lock up the EPL title?

Man United will beat Wigan today and then they will win the title in their next game against Arsenal. So my prediction is that United will wrap up the EPL title on 16th of May.

From an outsiders point of view, what do you make of the MLS, its players etc?

I had the possibility to go to DC United to see what the club was about in 2005. I have never been to a MLS game but I have had the chance to see a couple of MLS games on ESPN. From those games you can see that the MLS is progressing. Obviously the game is still very behind, but it is coming along well. If you look at the women's game in America then you can see probably one of the best leagues in the world, I feel this is because everyone started around the same time so there is no catch up. Whereas the MLS was formed in 1996 and every other league in Europe has been present since 1900's. To catch up 96 years does not happen over night, I do think that as America produces more talent players the better the standard will become and the more home grown players will prefer to stay and play in America. This will only help.

Are you taking on any interns for the summer?

We have several interns for this summer. But we always are on the look out for more people to get involved with the club. We are committed to the Buffalo/WNY community as it shows in our name. So the more people we can have involved with the club the better. The club was founded for the WNY community.

Is there anyway for the fans in Buffalo to watch/listen to the game on Saturday?

I am not sure. I think the game will be televised in PA and also on the radio. The club will find out more information and we will be sure to include this on our website Friday.

Is there a supporters club for the club?

We have a official supporters group. For more information please visit there website:

Are you doing trials for local players who want to play or get in our system?

We are always looking for any talented players to join the club weather it is for our youth
