Stephen Brandt's Managers Chat With Buffalo City FC's Mike Share Interview Pocono Snow Edition (05/22/09)

Freshly off of Buffalo City's 3-0 win over FC Revolution, Mike Share and Stephen Brandt sat down to talk about the upcoming match against Pocono Snow. The match is at Nichols school at 3pm on Sunday. Admission is free, so come down and support your Buffalo City FC! If you want to ask questions to Mike for the next managers chat email Stephen Brandt at sbrandt@buffalocityfc.com

We won our first ever match last week, what can you take out of the win?

The lads were superb, everything we worked on in training made this performance possible. It shows we have the potential to be a good team, all the players played well together from goalkeeper to our forwards. The players that came on all played very well, it really shows the depth of quality we have in our squad, as the season goes on we will only get better. We have to be consistent and I have every belief in my players and team that we are starting something special.

What can you tell us about Pocono Snow?

Pocono will be a very good attacking team so I am sure it will be a interesting game. As a manager I do not concern myself with what the other team is about, I can read the game after the first 10 mins, if needed I can then change our shape or formation. All I am concerned with is my team.

I've noticed at the training grounds that a lot of kids stop by and watch, do you mind having fans around watching you train the team? And if not, when do you practice?

I do not mind, Everyone that comes and watches the team train is very respectful and is not in our way. The club is here for the game to grow. So it benefits the growth of the game in NY if we can get the whole community involved. Also it shows what the game means to the people of Buffalo, it really is a growing sport and I am sure over the next couple of years this will show with the amount of upcoming young players that come through our ranks.

On your travels around Buffalo have you gotten any feedback on the club?

I have had a lot of feedback, I think people are only starting to understand what the club is about and how it can help the whole community and players to progress, It will be great if we can bring a National title
back to Buffalo. It is early days but you never know.

I know we have camps coming up, can you tell us briefly what they are about?

Buffalo City FC's 2009 Summer Pro Soccer Clinics are being held from 29th of June till 28th of August and our Buffalo City FC's Nichols School Summer Soccer Clinics from 20th of July till 24th of July and 27th of
July till 31st of July.

The camp will also be used to find the next superstar soccer player. The theme of the clinics are "Is your child the next $2 Million dollar Soccer player?, If so let Buffalo City FC secure your child a future in the
professional game.

I personally feel there is a lot of talent in Buffalo but sadly there are no development programs in place that can help players progress to European clubs, This is where we come in, any player that goes to our camp and is good enough to become a professional player, we will offer the player an all paid trip to Europe to secure a contract with the best teams in the world.

Has the media said anything about us yet?

We have had a lot of great feedback from the media, especially regarding the way and manner we play in. Hopefully we can continue this weekend with not just the good results but also play in the correct manner.

Champions League Final is coming up, do you see it as one sided as a lot of the pundits are saying? A Man United win?

No, Finals are never one sided, I do think Man United will win especially as Barca are very week at the back with all the injuries they have, but no game is easy especially when it is two great teams competing for the biggest club trophy in the world. I predict Man United 2-0.

I see this Pelayo Gomez on our roster, is he going to suit up for Buffalo City FC, and can you tell us something about him?

Pelayo is a good player who has gone through the ranks of our Official Academy AFA Marbella in Spain. He will only be part of our roster for one or two games before he returns to his newly signed club in England Brentford. We will also host AFA Marbella in July so I am sure everyone in Buffalo is looking forward to seeing our Spanish Academy.

Are people going to be able to watch the match on Sunday, if they can not show up?

The game will also be shown on our website a couple days after Sunday. So everyone that can not make the game will still be able to see all of our games on www.buffalocityfc.com. All of our games will also be sold in the shops as we have DVD box sets for every home game and at least three games will be televised live.
